Help Rook – partially Paralyzed Puppy needs Surgery

x

I came across a very inspiring story today on lessons From A Paralyzed canine about Rook; a 4 month old puppy that is in need of spinal surgery. His foster is doing an amazing job with him, she’s set up a fundraiser to cover the expenses of the surgery which is expected to cost $5000. If you don’t have extra money to spare please consider sharing his story; with enough networking they’ll be able to raise the funds and get Rook scheduled for the surgery which will give him a chance to lead a normal life.

Rook is an lovable 4 month old American bulldog puppy that is partially paralyzed due to a birth defect. He and his siblings were turned into Viva! animal Rescue in new Mexico when they were newborns.

Rook has 2 lose vertebrae in his spinal cord. They pinch, bruise, and push his spinal cord with every step he takes. It affects his mobility, gait, and posture. He’s been diagnosed with a spinal cord compression and abnormally loose joints between his neck and skull.

The animal medical facility is planning to decrease the pressure and stabilize his spine with surgery after he’s grown a bit much more so his back will be stronger.

Rook is being fostered by 19 year old Tryslyn Campos. She runs an animal advocacy page called TeeCeeBoo’s Wish. She’s currently helping to raise money for Rook’s spinal surgery which is expected to cost $5000. They’re wishing to raise the funds in 6 weeks.

Campos has been fostering Rook because he was a 7 weeks old weeks old. She says he’s a very pleased go lucky pup despite his physical discomfort. He wants to go run and play with the other puppies but he needs to be on crate rest. She takes him for 15 short walks a day and give his lots of cuddle time on the couch.

He’s allowed to go on a few short walks a day in a body harness, but he has to avoid all playing, jumping, running, and climbing stairs. Campos is identified to raise the funds and give Rook the chance to lead a normal life.

“Please if you can donate even $2 or $5 it will help so much. There is no amount too small.” -Tryslyn Campos

So please check out Rook’s fundraiser, give whatever you can to help this little pup delight in life without pain and discomfort. The sooner the funds are raised the sooner he can be scheduled for surgery and start living his life without pain.

If you don’t have any extra cash please consider sharing his story.
